Esmeraldas Cocoa: A Taste of Life from the Ecuadorian Jungle

It's Mischa here. I'm truly delighted that you're interested in our Esmeraldas cocoa. These cocoa beans and cocoa mass come from a remote region in northern Ecuador, which is difficult to access. On our journey there, we used four different modes of transport, including boats and rubber boots, which we lost in the mud more than once.

The cocoa is cultivated there by true indigenous people and Afro-Ecuadorians, which provides them with a good livelihood. This cocoa protects hundreds and thousands of hectares of rainforest and brings a vibrancy that you will feel in every bite. When we arrived in one of the villages, Monuc Bravo, we were greeted by a multitude of children. This vibrancy and joy is what this cocoa embodies for me.
