The idea for Kakao Mischa came to me during my first trip to South America. I actually didn’t intend to return to Europe. But there, in the middle of the Peruvian jungle, I encountered an inconspicuous yet life-changing piece of cacao. This plant captivated me so much that I decided then and there to dedicate my life to cacao and to share it not only with my loved ones back home, but with as many people as possible.
On November 15, sales begin for one of the most valuable and rarest cocoa varieties in the world – Arhuaco cocoa. With a harvest volume of only 16 tons per year, Arhuaco cocoa is among the most precious cocoas in the world. Its unique flavor notes and the story behind its cultivation make it a truly special experience for gourmets and lovers of sustainable products.
There are stories that warm the heart, and then there are stories that take you on a journey. In my case, we are combining both into a heartwarming journey that ended in a discovery which turned my life (and not just mine) completely upside down: real, ceremonial cacao.

The packaging specialist Karl Knauer has developed an innovative packaging solution for the high-quality cocoa products from Kakao Mischa. The new packaging, which consists of the environmentally friendly cardboard material "Crush Cacao," contains up to 15% cocoa shells, a by-product of chocolate production.
