Welcome to the world of Kakao Mischa!
Recently, we took you on a special Instagram livestream into our workshop – the heart of our company, where cacao dreams come true.
And anyone who was there knows that this was no ordinary tour: we didn't just show you the machines and processes, but shared plenty of anecdotes and special insights into our work with cacao. So, get comfortable, grab a cup of cacao, and join us on our tour once again.
The divinity of cacao – Why “Theobroma Cacao” is called food of the gods
We started the tour with a look into the fascinating history of cacao. “Theobroma Cacao,” which literally means “food of the gods,” is more than just a name. For the Inca, Aztecs, and Maya, cacao was a sacred plant and even served as currency.
Back then, five beans were traded for a rabbit and a hundred for a slave – this shows how valuable cacao was! Today, we mainly know it as sweet chocolate. But back then, it was exclusive and bitter, a true gift of nature that only the nobility and shamans were allowed to enjoy. For us, it is important to revive this originality and show how valuable cacao is in its pure form.
Attention to detail: From the bean to the ritual

During the tour, we guided you through the various stages of our production and explained how we process cacao in a sustainable and regenerative way. Appreciation is our guiding principle – from the plant to the bean and on to the people who enjoy our cacao. Everything begins with an appreciation of the soil where the cacao grows, right through to our customers, whom we accompany on their own cacao journey. Our goal is to convey cacao as a wholesome food and a cultural experience, rather than just selling a product.
The magic of ingredients: A natural powerhouse
For us, cacao is much more than a treat – it is a powerhouse full of nutrients and positive effects. Did you know that cacao contains over 300 ingredients? Among them are polyphenols for anti-inflammation, antioxidants, and the famous “bliss molecule” anandamide, which provides feelings of happiness in the brain.
Alexander von Humboldt once said that nowhere else does nature combine so many nutrients in such a small space as in the cacao bean – and we can only agree. We want our products to retain as much of this powerhouse as possible, which is why we leave the valuable cocoa butter in our chocolate.

A community full of love and devotion

A special highlight at Kakao Mischa is our team. Every Wednesday, we all gather in a circle to talk about everything currently on our minds – this not only strengthens us as a team but also connects us as people.
We don’t just work side-by-side; we share life, joy, and sometimes the challenges too. We hope that everyone who receives our cacao package feels this love: we pack every parcel carefully and add a personal message, which delights many of our customers.
A look into the future
At the end of the tour, we shared a small glimpse into our future: soon, our entire team will travel to South America to experience our cacao projects on-site.
This is something very special for us, because the connection with the indigenous cacao farmers is essential to us and shapes the philosophy of Kakao Mischa. “It’s another world to experience this origin up close and meet the people who share our vision,” we explained. It fills us with deep gratitude every time we are able to feel this connection.

Cacao as a ritual: A moment of connection
For us, cacao is not just food, but also a way to live more consciously and get closer to oneself. In a cacao ritual, we take time for the here and now, whether alone or in a group. A ritual is a way to come into contact with the power of cacao and its effect on our body. This gives us the space to listen more deeply to ourselves. Have you ever experienced a cacao ritual? If not, definitely give it a try – cacao can help you find clarity and peace and simply be.

At the end of our tour, we thanked you from the bottom of our hearts – for your enthusiasm, your interest, and the great appreciation you show for our cacao. If you would like to experience the tour again or know someone interested in cacao and its origins, we warmly invite you to watch the video of the livestream on our YouTube channel.
Together with you, we want to share the world of cacao and inspire even more people with its profound significance.
